Costco Member Cruise Deals and Other Warehouse Club Cruises
How Costco Travel and BJ’s Travel cruises work, what the club reward is worth, and how to compare it fairly.
Compare My Member Price FreeWarehouse clubs are the best-known source of member cruise deals. Costco and BJ’s both sell cruises to members, each with its own style of extra. Here is how Costco member cruise deals and their BJ’s equivalents usually work — without the hype, and without amounts that change by the week.
Costco Member Cruise Deals: How They Work
According to Costco’s own member magazine, Costco Travel has offered travel to U.S. members since 2000, and its buyers negotiate in four areas: vacation packages, cruises, hotels and rental cars. For cruises, that means you search the major lines through Costco Travel, book with your membership number, and receive Costco’s extra on top of the cruise line’s fare.
The store reward
The extra most members know is a Costco Shop Card issued after travel on qualifying cruises. Its value depends on the booking and the current promotion.
Executive reward
Executive members also earn their annual reward on Costco Travel purchases, subject to Costco’s yearly cap.
Club-built packages
Costco periodically promotes packaged sailings that bundle extras chosen by its buyers. Read what is included cabin by cabin.
Line promotions still apply
The cruise line’s own sale offers usually still show up on the fare; the club extra sits on top.

BJ’s Travel Cruises
BJ’s Wholesale Club runs BJ’s Travel for members and publishes cruise planning pages on its travel site. Travel writers who compared the two clubs have noted that BJ’s offers a wide choice of lines and has run member promotions in the form of a BJ’s gift card on qualifying cruises. As with Costco, the extra arrives as club currency rather than as a cut in the cruise fare, and the terms change from promotion to promotion.
If you hold both memberships, there is nothing wrong with pricing the same sailing at each and choosing the extra you will use.

Before You Book a Warehouse Club Cruise
- Confirm the exact ship, sailing date and cabin category — then price that identical cabin elsewhere before deciding.
- Find out who services the booking after you pay, and how changes and cancellations are handled.
- Ask whether the reward is calculated on the cruise fare only or on taxes, fees and extras as well.
- Note when the reward is issued, and whether cancelling or changing the sailing forfeits it.
- Keep your cruise line past-guest number on the reservation so your loyalty credit still counts.
- Buy insurance on the final price; Cruise & Travel Insurance explains what cruise cover typically includes.
Warehouse club cruise extras can be genuinely worthwhile, especially for families who would spend the store reward anyway. They are just one option — a seasonal promotion from the line, or extras an agency adds, can beat them on a given week.
Warehouse Club Cruises: FAQ
Do I need an Executive membership to book a Costco cruise?
Costco Travel is open to Costco members; the Executive tier adds an annual reward that also accrues on Costco Travel purchases. Check Costco’s current membership terms for the reward rate and cap, which have changed over the years.
Does Sam’s Club still sell cruises?
We could not confirm a current Sam’s Club cruise booking service in October 2026: the club’s old travel web address now leads to a general services page. Sam’s Club Travel did launch in 2014 with a wholesale partner. Ask the club directly before planning around it.
Is a warehouse club gift card as good as a lower fare?
Only if you would spend it at that club anyway, and only once you receive it. A lower fare reduces your deposit, your insurance cost and your total; a store card arrives later and is spent on groceries, not on the cruise.
